🛠️ Preparation
Tools required: Clean lint-free cloth, spray bottle (Fill with clean water), squeegee or plastic card, utility knife, tape measure, positioning tape.
Environmental requirements: Choose an indoor space with minimal dust; close doors and windows before installation; avoid wearing clothing that sheds fibers.
Material inspection: Verify that the smart film dimensions match the glass; check the film surface for scratches or air bubbles; ensure all accessories (power cord, controller) are included.
📏 Glass Preparation
Measure the glass dimensions with a tape measure and mark the center point to ensure precise film placement.
Spray cleaning solution onto the glass surface and wipe repeatedly with a lint-free cloth, focusing on removing grease, dust, and water stains until the surface is free of streaks and impurities.
Wipe once more with a dry, lint-free cloth to ensure the glass is completely dry.
🚧PDLC Smart Film Application Process
Positioning: Orient the side of the PDLC Smart Film with the protective liner toward the glass, align it with the previously marked center point, and use positioning tape to temporarily secure the top of the film.
Removing the Liner: Gently peel back the bottom protective liner from one corner; as you peel, lightly spray the adhesive side of the film with water to minimize air bubbles.
Application: Slowly lay the Smart Film onto the glass. Using a squeegee, gently work from the center outward to expel air and moisture from between the film and the glass; apply moderate pressure to avoid scratching the film surface.
Trimming: If the Smart Film is slightly oversized, use a utility knife to carefully trim the excess along the edge of the glass, keeping the blade parallel to the glass edge as much as possible.
🔌 Electrical Connection
Following the controller’s manual, correctly connect the PDLC Smart Film’s power leads to the controller, ensuring the positive and negative terminals are not reversed.
Plug the controller’s power cord into a suitable power outlet and test the Smart Film’s switching function to ensure it operates correctly.
If using a remote control, pair the remote with the controller and test the operating range and responsiveness.
✅ Post-installation Adjustment and Maintenance
Inspect the film surface for any residual air bubbles. If small bubbles are present, try smoothing them out repeatedly with a squeegee; if they cannot be eliminated, please contact a factory engineer for assistance.
Do not wipe the film surface for three days after installation to avoid compromising the adhesion.
For routine cleaning, gently wipe only with a dry, lint-free cloth; avoid using cleaning agents containing corrosive ingredients.
